What's the purpose of graffiti? Is this really art? (Oar)Purpose, um.. varies to much from writer to writer. for me its purpose is to just put out something beautiful for the common man to freak out on. Rock spots that last by time and impression in the minds of those who observe. we only live once why not leave something for masses. art. Rebellion Through Destructive Creation.
How long have you been writing? What made you start and was it difficult to learn? (Oar)been writing since 93 painting since 94/95. skating and getting up as a little punk ass kid. it was just fun now its business. hahahaha nah, graf is all about having fun.
How does someone learn graffiti art? Do you have to be a certain type of person to do this kind of art work? (Oar)
man i have met so many variants of writer. it takes none to know none. graf is held by only the barrier of each writers mind. not race, class, social status, etc..
How is this art an _expression of yourself? What do you feel when you are working on your graffiti? (Oar) Relief mostly. that i have not stopped proving myself to myself. my graf is what it is. mine. makes me feel good when im satisfied with what ive done.
What's your inspiration for doing graffiti? (Oar) my inspiration used to be life. my youth was wild so i got up to be that wild kid ya know. now i just am inspired by all my boys. my crews are tight. my boys are my crew. we hold it down and keep eachother going. toys and new cats come along and rock some shit for a minute but my crew is will and always has been here. holding it down.

What's the purpose of graffiti? Is this really art?[Craola] I don't know if i am the person to be answering these questions. I haven't picked up a spray can in monthes. It sucks, because most of the time I just want to work n a production. I work so much these days that all i have time to paint are canvases. I guess that as I've gotten older my priorities have changed a bit. I'm starting a family and stuff and spend my weekends with my fiance instead of in front of a wall. So i guess the purpose of graffiti for me is artistic _expression and escape. And yes it is art in most of its forms. Some of it just looks like chicken scratch. That's too big of a question to answer in a few lines.
How long have you been writing? What made you start and was it difficult to learn?[Craola] Istarted in 1993. Inew some people in high school that wrote and they showed me "Can Control" magazine and i was hooked. I have been drawing sincei was like 3 years old also, and just needed to do something with it.
How does someone learn graffiti art? Do you have to be a certain type of person to do this kind of art work?[Craola] You learn how to do graf the way you learn anything else. Practice. If you have some kind of artistic skills, you can focus it into graf. I've met people from all walks of life that do graf, so no, there is definately not the one type of person who does graf.
How is this art an __expression of yourself? What do you feel when you are working on your graffiti?[Craola] It's just a bigger way of putting my art up. I like working on walls with my friends and collaborating. It's a personal and social art. people interact and critique you the whole time. I just get stoked when i step back from a finished wall. I could stand there all night and look for the mistakes to fix and see the stuff i like. I just wish i had the time to paint more walls.
What's your inspiration for doing graffiti?[Craola] A better question would be what's my insiration for doing art. Books: The Bible, Watership Down, The Phantom Tollbooth, Chronicles of Narnia, old comics. Old and new Cartoons. Cereal box and advertising art. Lots of other artists. Tattoo art. Rock and roll and punk rock, the little rascals and Frank Sinatra, old Bob Hope movies, who framed Roger Rabbit. the list goes on....
